Settling Family Law Disputes Through Parenting Facilitation Confidential, Flexible, and Cost-Effective Alternative to Trial

Coparenting during and immediately after a divorce or break-up can be extremely challenging. Most final court orders and divorce decrees do not adequately address the typical day-to-day struggles of coparenting, like bedtimes, keeping up with soccer uniforms, or choosing to medicate a child for his/her ADHD versus a more homeopathic remedy. When these decisions cannot be made without exhaustive or toxic in-fighting between coparents, which can escalate into another round of litigation in the family courts, a parenting facilitator or coordinator may be the better option to help resolve those issues quickly and amicably, and at a fraction of the cost of litigation.  John B. Polk has served DFW families and coparents as a Parenting Facilitator or Coordinator since 2012 and has successfully helped parents avoid repeated trips to the courthouse. Many day-to-day problems that might otherwise erupt into expensive and lengthy modification case, or even custody battles, can usually be resolved with one or two Zoom meetings!

Litigation is poison for families, especially for the children. While litigation may occasionally be the only remaining option, it is far too often a knee-jerk reaction to a completely avoidable breakdown in communication and/or transparency. Parenting Facilitation is tailor-made for well-intentioned parents who simply cannot always agree on what is best for the children or have significant difficulty communicating with their coparent. Moreover, if a dispute cannot be resolved amicably or a difficult coparent simply won’t see reason, a Parenting Facilitator can testify in court and help the Family Court Judge reach a decision on what is in the child’s/children’s best interest.

If you think you and your children will benefit from results-based coparenting coaching and dispute resolution, give John a call. Just because you can fight it out in court doesn’t mean you should.”
